Get a Car Insurance Quote

Whatever you do when taking out car insurance make sure that you research it thoroughly. You could save yourself a lot of money - hundreds of pounds in some cases.

So, firstly, try to determine which are the best value for money options. You can do this by checking out a comparison table which will provide you with a list of insurers and what they are able to offer.

You will usually have to fill in a few personal details - age, name, address and so on - and then provide details of the make and model of the car that you are looking to insure. You will find that you can even get quotes which are tailored to suit your individual requirements - insurance for women, the very young and the Over 50s for example. It takes only a few minutes and will prove to be a little time very well spent.

Once you have narrowed the list of possibles down to three or four the next step is to contact those companies direct and go through the terms and conditions of your policy with a fine tooth-comb. Check and double check, then go back and go through it all again if necessary, particularly the notorious small print, which is where you will find any exclusions that apply. Make a mistake at this crucial stage of the proceedings and you may well have cause to regret it at a later date.

Nor should you always go for the cheapest quote. Look very closely at what the insurance offers - low excess, no claims, windscreen cover and things like that. Value for money - let that be your guide.
