Does My Car Insurance Cover Rental Cars



You get off the plane and go to the car rental desk. The agent asked, "do you want to buy insurance for Your rental car?" This is not the thing you want to be thorough in your vacation, so it's good you know what is covered before you travel it.

The most likely answer is that you don't have to buy additional rental car insurance.   • Car insurance you don't have comprehensive or collision coverage. People often ignore the scope of comprehensive and/or collision for vehicles that are older and less valuable. But you might want a comprehensive and collision coverage for rental. You don't want to risk paying out of pocket for the repair of a rental car from a collision. And you will want a comprehensive coverage in case the damage is not caused by a collision (a pot hole, flame, etc.).
  • Car insurance you have a high deductible. Other ways people are trying to save money on car insurance problem is to choose a high deductible. But this means you risk paying a high deductible if you are involved in an accident with a rental car. Purchase the rental insurance could come down like a deductible.
