Ten people sit on the bench, to simulate robberies and try to collect the insurance.
Ten accused of alleged crimes of fraud through the illegal import of luxury cars from Germany to those bent plates or VIN. After simulating theft or accidents, they sought to collect insurance companies.
The events date back to May 2012 when the accused JP He drew up a purchase agreement dated July 15, 2008 by a person acquired a 33,000 BMW 7 euros when in fact the buyer was the accused himself. In another case, with a similar “modus operandi“, the defendants obtained insurance 88 899 euros after a false accusation of theft of another vehicle, this time a Mercedes GLK 500.
The third of the vehicles used for this scam was an Audi A-8, also imported from Germany, which allegedly sold to a woman in Sevilla for 94.500 euros in July 2009. The woman, months later, reported the theft of the vehicle “untruthfully and with full knowledge of it,” according to the prosecutor. However he claimed the amount stipulated by theft insurance who compensated him with 78,413.40 euros.
Ten defendants face, according to the prosecutor, a consummate offense of fraud, an offense of forgery of official documents, a crime against the administration of justice -simulation of crime- and one of fraud is attempted. For these crimes, in which each of the defendants has a different degree of responsibility, the prosecutor asked the principal defendant 30 years in prison because the offenses are repeated until five times.
For the other defendants, they requested sentences ranging from six to one year in prison for each of the ten defendants in this case, which has a total of 63 years in prison. The trial will be held between October 29 and November 6 in several sessions.
